Fire Risk Assessment

Under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, fire safety law in Scotland was modernised and consolidated into a risk-based framework. This legislation places a legal duty on employers and anyone else who has control of premises (known as dutyholders) to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment. The purpose of the assessment is to identify potential fire hazards, evaluate the risk of harm to occupants, and implement suitable fire safety measures to reduce the likelihood of fire and protect life.

HESTIA Fire Safety undertakes professional, risk-based inspections utilizing a 19-point, non-invasive fire door inspections to verify that doors are correctly installed, maintained, and capable of performing as intended in the event of fire. Our assessment includes the condition of the door leaf and frame, intumescent and smoke seals, glazing, ironmongery, signage, and self-closing devices. We provide clear, practical reports with prioritised recommendations to support compliance and preserve effective compartmentation.
